Whether by luck or design, blogs, videos, podcasts, Internet calls, webcams, websites and digital images have all become part of my day-to-day life - professional and personal. They have all so enhanced our ability to connect with others - and I am always singing their praises - trying to be a new media mentor to anyone who asks.
Kay Hebburn,
www.goulverston.co.uk
, invited me to talk about New Media, New Opportunities at the recent Chamber West Cumbria and Furness Business Forum meeting in Ulverston.

The new energy of entrepreneurship from the forum members was so creatively visible in the names of the businesses - extremely intriguing names like Lisa's Future Seeing,
www.futureseing.com
; or Archie's Game Changer,
www.gamechanger.co.uk
, or Alan's LIFE Direcotry,
www.lifedirectory.co.uk
.
We discussed blogs vs websites, the use of video to promote services, ways to involve and evolve customers.
8th April
Karen Bassett from the Lanternhouse and the Uni of Cumbria
came to speak to the creative forum. It was such a useful and
informative talk for anyone doing anything creative around here.
Again, I wish so many people I know had been there. I think we will
look at doing a day event/workshop in the near future.
